Demo Report: February, 25th 2014

DCIM100GOPROOn February 25th The Bunny Alliance and Empty Cages Los Angeles collaborated on a joint demonstration against China Southern Airlines to demand that they end their involvement in the transportation of primates to animal research facilities.

The protest started at 10:30 am outside CSA’s office in Los Angeles with the sound of sirens blaring from 5 different megaphones. The security at the CSA office quickly locked the front entry way due to concerns of the activists entering lobby of the building. This act forced tenants of the building to have to walk down the street to another entry where no activists were present proving to be a inconvenience for all parties but of course the demonstrators. The activists carried on with the demonstration for an hour and a half, chanting, “ Stop the suffering, Stop the pain, China Southern Airlines is to blame” and speaking passionately about the atrocities that go on inside of animal testing laboratories around the globe. With CSA being the last remaining commercial airline still willing to ship animals from China, it is suspected that they are shipping upwards of 1,200 animals a month!

DCIM100GOPROIf China Southern Airlines were not involved in the shipment of primates, exporting primates out of China would be no easy task. For this reason, The Bunny Alliance and Empty Cages Los Angeles have decided to collaborate on the task of confronting CSA about their continued involvement in the primate trade. Until the shipments come to a stop, the protests will continue. Join us at our next event on March 5th at 10:30 am in front the CSA office at 6300 Whilshire Blvd., Los Angeles CA 90048.

In constant struggle,

The Bunny Alliance and Empty Cages Los Angeles!
